Paloma Ascended with Purpose — A Sermon on the Steps
“Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.”
— Psalm 92:13
Paloma’s flats whispered against the stone steps as she climbed, each soft tap echoing louder in the spirit than in the air. This wasn’t a stroll, or a “maybe next Sunday” moment. This was movement with meaning.
She wasn’t passing by the church to admire the architecture.
She wasn’t circling the block while negotiating with her feelings.
She wasn’t waiting to see who else would show up.
She was ascending.
Step by step, choice by choice, she moved toward the sanctuary with a resolve she hadn’t felt in weeks. Her heart beat steadier. Her shoulders relaxed. Her confidence rose.
The doors were still closed, but Heaven was already open.
On the stairs — not the pews, not the altar — the Holy Spirit met her. A quiet assurance wrapped around her shoulders like a shawl:
“You chose right today.”
And suddenly she realized something deeply personal:
Her climb…
was her sermon.
Every step declared faithfulness.
Every breath preached consistency.
Every motion testified:
“I will be planted. I will flourish.”
Paloma didn’t just enter a building.
She entered obedience.
She stepped into fellowship.
She chose presence over passivity.
✨ Because at times, the greatest act of worship is simply showing up.
Don’t ghost the pew.
