Scripture — Proverbs 25:27 (NLT)

It’s not good to eat too much honey…”

A Sasspoint Village Story

Sisi Morowa stepped into Sasspoint Super-Mart with a simple plan: buy tomatoes and cassava chips and leave before anything dramatic happened.

She almost succeeded.

In Aisle 6, her son Sena stood holding a cereal box that looked like it needed a permission slip to exist:

GlowBurst Neon Nibbles
(A cereal with more sugar than sense.)

“Mommy, look!” Sena said.
“It says it gives ENERGY!”

Morowa smiled softly.
“Let’s read the ingredients together.”

They flipped the box around.
The ingredient list was… extensive.
Sena’s eyes moved down the lines:

  • Sugar (first ingredient)

  • High-fructose syrup

  • Neon yellow #47

  • Pow-Pow Flavor Enhancer

  • “Crunch Booster Formula”

  • And a few names that sounded like science fair projects

Sena frowned.
“Mommy… this is a lot.”

Morowa nodded.
“Remember what Proverbs 25:27 says?
‘It’s not good to eat too much honey.’
Even sweet things need wisdom.
Too much of anything can tire your body.”

Sena thought for a moment.
Then he calmly placed the cereal back — no fuss, no attitude, no meltdown.

“I don’t want it anymore,” he said.
“I want something real… something that helps my body, not tricks it.”

Morowa’s heart warmed.
No argument.
Just understanding.

“Can I pick fruit instead?” he asked.
“Yes, you can,” she said.

And the two walked on —
mother and son,
Bible wisdom blending with everyday choices,
choosing peace over pressure.

Aisle 6 stayed unusually quiet…
as wisdom won again.

Family Reflection

  • What choices do we make without looking at “what’s inside”?

  • How can Scripture help us make wiser decisions every day?

  • What small decision can we make as a family this week that leads to better health and peace?
